5 Things I Was Surprised to Learn about Communiation
1. I did not know that we had a Theatre/Comedy minor here at WPU. I also did not know it was the only type of major not available anywhere else across the county. It was interesting and seemed very fun watching what people in those majors do, something I had not seen before.
2. I never knew how to write a press release before this class. I never really knew what went in to making one, just that they existed. I was surprised to learn about what they were and how to write one myself.
3. I never knew how to edit audio, what “Audacity” was or how to even use it. It was fun learning how to do that, and I think I’ll be able to use it in the future.
4. I did not know that so many professors here at WPU have actually worked in the real world, what there struggles were, and what they’ve accomplished throughout their lives. It was very helpful and interesting information to learn. I loved learning about the Film and TV careers, and all of the various jobs available in these fields.
5. I did not know how many internship opportunities were actually available to me. I also have a better understanding on how to find such internships and how to go about obtaining one. Internships at places such as SNL, or any production company in the city really, would be ideal for me.
3 Companies I’d Like to Work For:
I am a Media Production major and would love to find a job either producing, screenwriting, directing, or editing for any of the following companies.
1. I would love to work for Warner Brothers Studios. Considering they are one of the biggest film and television industries of today, they have many jobs to offer and many possible choices of things to do. Their CW television network would be one of my first choices to work for. I would love to produce a show, or edit promos for upcoming series’ and episodes. I watch that network religiously and would love to lend a hand in creating a television series for that channel. I would even want to work for their film industry as well. They are responsible for making Harry Potter, The Dark Night, Inception, and so many other movies into the great films they are today. Helping out on set during one of these productions would be fulfilling and exciting.
2. Another well-respected company I would not mind getting a job with would be for NBCUniversal. I have heard stories from people that work at Saturday Night Live and it seems like a fun environment that I would also like to be apart of one day. E! Entertainment and Universal Pictures would also be appealing to work for. Again, Universal Pictures is another well-respected film production company that I would like making movies for. Movie trailers would be fun to edit and create. Working as a correspondent for E! News also seems like a cool job. Reading celebrity gossip is a guilty pleasure, reporting it would probably be just as fun.
3. Vivendi comes last on this list, because I am not sure where I would like to work, but they do own the Universal Music Group, and I would love to be apart of something that deals with music. If I worked for the Universal Music Group, or any music group or record company for that matter, I would like to write, direct, and/or edit music videos for bands and artists that are signed to them. I find music videos to be a very creative and expressing art form, if done correctly. I would love to express myself and think of a creative story based off of a song, and watch it come to life and come together.

3 Places
3 Places I’d Like To Visit Before I Die
1. Italy –
I would LOVE to travel all of Italy. Venice, Rome, Sicily—there is so much culture in such a tiny country. Both sides of my family are either all or partial Italian. It would be awesome to see where my ancestors grew up, and if I have any current family living there now.
2. California –
I wouldn’t mind going to every major city, as well as a few small ones. I’d love to see the national park, visit Hollywood, go to San Diego and San Francisco, check out L.A., and have a nice 5 star dinner in Napa Valley. There is so much to do in this one state, and I don’t think it would ever get boring.
3. Egypt –
After all the chaos is over, I’d love to go to Egypt. After watching movies like “The Mummy”, Egypt’s hidden history has fascinated me. To see the pyramids and tombs would be an amazing experience. There is so much history and mystery in one country; it would be a great visit.
My 5 Most Favorite Possessions!
1.
My Cell Phone;
It’s really crappy and only decides to work whenever it feels like it. However, it is my only method of communication to anyone I talk to, sadly. Without it, I’d be lost.

2. My Bed;
I love sleep. I can’t get enough of it. My bed is ridiculously comfortable. I would hate life without it.

3. My Computer;
I spend many hours a day on the computer, looking up useless information and browsing YouTube, reading celebrity gossip and world news, and listening to and downloading new music. I would feel disconnected from the world without it.

4. My Notebook;
I love to write. I have a few notebooks that I keep around my room to write down any thoughts, feelings, lyrics, stories, or whatever else. It is a nice, private, and healthy way to express all different emotions that I feel on a daily basis.

5. My stuffed animal;
I’m a softy. I love my stuffed animal puppy. It is so adorable and soft, and it keeps me company anytime that I am ever alone. It sounds strange and childish, but I cannot sleep without him!
